AREA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS RECEIVE AWARD AND TREE SEEDLING FOR "SEEING GREEN" POSTER CONTEST
Over 60 area elementary school students were named as winners of May Eye Care's Save Your Vision Month poster contest. This year's theme was "Seeing Green" and student were encourage to submit a poster showing what they do in their lives to improve the environment. 60 winners were selected out of hundreds of entries based on creativity and artistic effort.
Each winner wasl recognized at a ceremony earlier this month at May Eye Care. The students were given a certificate of achievement and a 10" tree frasier fir seedling to plant to help the environment. This is the fourth year for the event. The contest also encourages young people to receive regular eye care to ensure good vision and long term health.
