The May Eye Care Center & Associates (Hanover, PA) is recruiting physicians nationally — first a fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist, then a comprehensive ophthalmologist who operates, plus residency-trained optometrists. The practice is independent and physician-owned (founded 2001, no private-equity ownership), its founder owns the ambulatory surgery center (Cherry Tree Surgical, founded 2023), and the opportunity includes a partnership track and a potential path to ASC equity. Hanover is one hour from Baltimore, two from Washington and Philadelphia. Relocation is supported.

After more than a decade as medical director of a local surgery center, Dr. May built his own in 2023: Cherry Tree Surgical, an ambulatory surgery center minutes from the clinic, designed around cataract and glaucoma surgery. He owns it outright — which means block time for an incoming surgeon is a decision, not a committee process, and a future equity conversation has exactly one person on the other side of the table.

Hanover sits about an hour from Baltimore and Harrisburg, thirty minutes from Gettysburg, and two hours from Washington and Philadelphia, with BWI airport roughly seventy minutes away. Housing costs are a fraction of the metro suburbs’, and the commute is measured in minutes. Prefer city living? Several of our target candidates would live in Baltimore’s northern suburbs and reverse-commute — Hunt Valley is about fifty minutes against traffic. We support relocation either way, and we’ll help a spouse or family get oriented — schools, employers, the region.
