What this policy covers — and what it doesn't

This policy covers the mayeyecare.com website only. It is not our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices. Your medical records and protected health information are governed by that Notice: read our Notice of Privacy Practices. It is also posted at the office, and a paper copy is available on request by calling (717) 637-1919. This website does not collect or store patient medical records.

Information you give us

Careers applications. If you apply for a position through our Careers page, we collect your name, email address, phone number, the position you're applying for, and an optional resume. Your application is delivered by email to our hiring staff using Resend, an email delivery provider. We use this information only for recruiting, we never sell it or share it for marketing, and we keep it only as long as needed for hiring. Please do not include medical information in an application.

Calls and emails you send us. If you call or email the office, we use your contact information to respond to you.

Information collected automatically

Our hosting provider, Vercel, keeps standard server logs. We also use Vercel Analytics to count page visits in aggregate — it is designed to measure how the site is used without tracking you across other websites. We do not use advertising trackers.

Embedded content and third-party services

Some pages include educational videos played through the Rendia video player. Pages with videos load their thumbnail images from Rendia's servers, and playing a video connects your browser to Rendia's servers, which may set their own cookies. Our pages also load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests those font files from Google's servers.

The patient reviews shown on this site are retrieved from Google by our server — your browser does not contact Google to display them.

We link to services operated by others, including our patient portal and patient intake forms (operated by MedInformatix), Cherry Tree Surgical, and Google Maps. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which we don't control.

Cookies

This site does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies of its own. Embedded video players may set their cookies inside the player. Your browser settings let you view, limit, or delete cookies at any time.

How we use and share information

We use the information described above to operate the site, respond to you, and evaluate job applications. We do not sell personal information. We disclose it only when required by law.

Security and retention

The site is served entirely over HTTPS, and we collect the minimum we need. Careers applications are kept only as long as needed for hiring decisions.

Children

This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Our practice treats patients ages 18 and older.
